I-41 Chase Ends Up With One Arrest, Two Sent To Hospital
What should have been a routine Thursday evening traffic stop ends up with two people going to the hospital and an arrest. A FDL County Sheriff’s Deputy was attempting to pull over a vehicle in the southbound lane of I-41, near CTH N in the Town of Eldorado at 8:36 p.m. Thursday evening for a speeding violation. The driver of the vehicle did not stop, traveling at a high rate of speed and exiting at Johnson St., heading west on Hwy. 23.
The suspects, a 20-year old male and an 18-year old female, then traveled south utilizing town roads, finally losing control of the vehicle on Hillcrest Rd., south of CTH T, and running into a utility pole. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to St. Agnes Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody on charges of Eluding, Recklessly Endangering Safety and other traffic violations. The pursuit covered nearly 11 miles, but there were no other injuries or property damages reported as a result of the chase. The Wisconsin State Patrol, Lamartine Fire Department and North Fond du Lac Ambulance all assisted in the incident.
