June Events at the FDL Public Library (Audio)

Ian Stepleton joins KFIZ Today to discuss the following:
- Summer Reading Program: Our annual program kicked off yesterday. The program includes opportunities to win prizes at all age levels if you log your minutes online or with paper cards. It’s also an important way for parents to encourage children to keep reading over the summer and prevent “the summer slide.” It also means a summer full of exciting activities, all of which are FREE.
- Wonder Wednesday performances: Each Wednesday in June, we will have a different performer visit the library, starting with Deaf entertainers Magic Morgan and Liliana. This requires a ticket that must be picked up at the library (for free) before we run out.
- Little Mermaid Escape Room, June 8-10: School age kids and their families are invited to help Ariel find her voice after it’s been stolen! It’s timed to coincide with the release of the live-action remake of this favorite movie.
- Bookmark contest for all ages (now through Aug. 13): Everyone is invited to create a unique bookmark; prizes will be awarded
- Art activities for adults: Evening Craft Class returns June 12 as participants create Decoupage Hearts for 4th of July, and Good Natured Crafts returns June 20 as we create a Mini Flower Press
- History at Home: Anne Kasuboski will discuss how to research Polish ancestors in the Fond du Lac area, and talk about how Polish immigrants in Wisconsin differed from other parts of the country.
