Juneau County triple homicide suspect Virgil Thew’s bond set at $5 million cash

Virgil Thew, the man accused of killing his girlfriend, step daughter and her friend in Juneau County at the end of December, prompting a man hunt for him for 9 days, made a court appearance for a bond hearing yesterday in Juneau County.

Thew is being charged with three counts of first degree intentional homicide in the case.

Juneau County District Attorney Kenneth Hamm asked the judge for a $5 million cash bond stating because of the seriousness of the crimes and Thew’s past history of hiding from law enforcement. The judge in the case granted the $5 million request.

Thew is set to appear in court again on Feb. 13 for an initial appearance. If convicted, he faces a life in prison.
