Junior Master Gardener Program

Looking for a free interactive, educational program for your child this summer? If you answered yes, then you’ll want to check out UW-Madison Extension’s Junior Master Gardener (JMG) Program. It is a summer-long gardening/cooking program for youth, ages 8-12 years, that teaches them to “dig in the dirt”, care for plants, cook in the kitchen and eat healthy fruits and vegetables. Beyond gardening and cooking, your child will take field trips in the community, learn about insects and “dirt” from the experts, play fun games, and create lifelong friends (just to name a few.)
Sessions are held twice a month from 4-5:30 pm during the school season (April-May), and then weekly from 1-2:30 pm during the summer season. The JMG season begins April 10 from 4-5:30 pm in the “Garden of Eatin” gardens at UW-Extension (Fond du Lac County Campus, 400 University Drive). A designated parent/guardian is required to accompany youth participants at all sessions. There is no registration fee to attend this program. To register, please contact the UW-Madison Extension Fond du Lac County office at (920) 906-4620. The deadline to register is Friday, April 4.
