KFIZ High School Football Preview (Week 6)

Fond du Lac at Appleton East
Fond du Lac (1-5, 1-2) comes off there first victory of the season over #5 ranked Kaukauna. A big game from QB Connor Klapperich with big night passing for over 150 yards and 2 TD’s, running for 139 yards and a score also getting an interception on defense to fuel the Cardinal victory. This week they take on Appleton East (2-3, 1-2) that runs the triple option offense. Last week the Patriots were beat by Kimberly 42-14. Fond du Lac’s defense will have to run a different defense then what they are use to and really focus on the where is in the triple option that East runs.

Flyway Conference
Campbellsport at Fond du Lac Springs – Saturday 1pm at Fruth Field
Homecoming for the Ledgers (5-0, 3-0) this weekend at Fruth Field. Flyway conference championship implications as Campbellsport (4-1, 2-1) comes in off a loss to Winnebago Lutheran Academy last week. Campbellsport with problems turning over the ball last week. Coach Bob Hyland’s defense will look to contain Campbellsport running back Ben Timm who rushed for 173 yards last week in the loss.

Laconia at Winnebago Lutheran
Winnebago Lutheran Academy (5-0, 3-0) looks to continue with their undefeated season against Laconia (2-3, 0-3) who has struggled since conference play started. The Spartans have run into tough matchups against Lomira, Springs and Mayville and this week won’t be any easier against WLA a team led by QB Sam Loehr who ran for 3 touchdowns in the first half in a win over conference foe Campbellsport.
North Fond du Lac at Lomira
Lomira (3-2, 2-1) with one of their more impressive victories of the season last week 35-32 over Omro. Lomira racked up 381 yards on offense with 193 coming on the ground attack for the Lions. North Fond du Lac (1-4, 0-3) struggled last week against a much superior St. Mary’s Springs team will look for an upset this week over Lomira.
Non Conference 8 Man Football
Oakfield at Menomonee Indian
Oakfield (4-0) ranked 9th in 8-player football on the road this week against Menomonee Indian (0-4) who has been outscored by there opponents 252-12. Oakfield with an impressive win last week over Valley Christian up 36-0 at halftime. Hunter Sable had 123 yards on the ground in the win.
