–The Warbirds netted three goals in both the first and third periods to earn the win

Wrestling:

North Fond du Lac/St, Mary’s Springs went 4-1 at the Bernie Kane Classic hosted by Madison East HS. The Oriole/Ledger team picked up wins over Madison West (60-18), Madison Memorial (42-34), Madison LaFollette (48-28) and Madison East (42-37) with their only loss coming at the hands of Monona Grove/McFarland (35-26). Dalton Fritch (160 pounds) and Marcus Orlandoni (220) both went 5-0 on the day, while Andrew Forsythe (145), Lane Fritch (182) and Jacob Koffman (195) all went 4-1.

Ripon placed third (148 team points) and Winnebago Lutheran sixth (106 points) at the Markesan Hornet Invite on Saturday.

For Ripon: Joseph Kain took first place at 182 pounds, while Kaden Keenlance (126 pounds), Ethan Zache (132) and LeeRoy Cotton (113) all took second

For WLA: Josh Huey took first place at 152 pounds, with Josh Roloff (132), Micah Hinds (138) and Ryan Jacobs (285) all finishing in third.

Laconia went 2-3 at the Waupun Duals on Saturday – with wins over Marshall and Waupun and losses to Kenosha Christian Life, Milwaukee Morse/Marshall and West Bend East

Lomira took seventh place at the Terry Kramer Open hosted by Fort Atkinson on Saturday. The Lions scored 284.5 team points with two second place finishers – Alex Gundrum at 132 pounds and Noah Danner at 145 pounds.

Fond du Lac placed 10th at the Highlander Varsity Invitational hosted at Homestead High School. The Cardinals scored 189 team points at the meet with Isaac Ortegon taking first place at 145 pounds, Braelon Allen placing second at 182 pounds and Tristan Lakey placing third at 126 pounds to highlight the meet for the Cardinals

–Kelvin Jones scored 13 points to lead the Sabres in the loss

WIAC:

UW-Oshkosh 72, UW-La Crosse 66

–Jack Flynn scored 22 points and Brett Wittchow added 17 to lead the Titans past the Eagles and into sole possession of first place in the WIAC. Wittchow surpassed 1,000 career points in the victory for Oshkosh.

–Ethan Happ led all scorers with 26 points and added 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Badgers handed the #2 ranked Wolverines their first loss of the season Saturday afternoon at the Kohl Center. Michigan led 44-43 with 8:05 left to play – but were outscored 21-10 the rest of the way by the Badgers. Wisconsin improves to 4-3 in conference and 12-6 overall, they’ll visit Illinois on Wednesday.

–Eric Bledsoe scored 30 points, with Giannis Antetokounmpo added 25 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in the win for the Bucks. Milwaukee has won four straight and six of seven, they host Dallas for a Monday matinee game at 1pm.
