–Ethan Happ scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Nate Reuvers added 12 points in the loss for the Badgers at the Kohl Center Thursday night. Poor shooting in the first half hurt Wisconsin – with the team shooting just 23 percent in the half (6 for 26). For the game, the Badgers made just five of 22 three pointers (22.7 percent). The Badgers got as close as two points (49-47) with 2:07 left, but the Gophers outscored them 10-5 down the stretch to seal the win. Wisconsin drops to 10-4 on the year – they’ll visit Penn State on Sunday.

NBA:
The Bucks return to action tonight – the first of three games in four days as they host the Atlanta Hawks at Fiserv Forum. Milwaukee owns the best record in the Eastern Conference at 26-10 and has won four in a row and eight of their last nine. The Bucks defeated Detroit 121-98 on Tuesday night behind 25 points from Brook Lopez. Atlanta, meanwhile is 11-26 and has lost two in a row, including a 114-98 loss to Washington Wednesday night. The Hawks are 5-5 in their last 10 games. Tipoff time is 7:30 tonight, coverage on the Bucks Radio Network begins at 7 on KFIZ.
Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for December. Giannis averaged 25.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.2 steals per game in helping lead Milwaukee to a 10-4 record. Giannis scored 30 or more points in seven of the 13 games he played in during the month – including 44 points in a win over Cleveland on December 14th. It’s the third time Giannis has earned “Player of the Month” and second time this season.
The NBA also announced Thursday that Giannis is leading all Eastern Conference players in the first look at fan voting for the All-Star game. Gianns has earned over 991-thousand votes so far. Fans can vote online at bucks dot com/allstar

Just a day after being named the NCHA Player of the Week, Marian men’s hockey player and Fond du Lac native Conner Blanck has been named to the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week for the first time in his career. Blanck had his second multi-point game of the season in helping the Sabres defeat St. Scholastica in last weekend’s UW-Superior Showdown. He recorded an assist on the first three Sabre goals in the 4-3 win.
