NLCS – Game 5:
LA Dodgers 5, Milwaukee 2
–The Brewers bats were quiet again as they fell to the Dodgers in game five of the National League Championship Series in Los Angeles Wednesday. Lorenzo Cain doubled in a run in the third to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead, but it was all Dodgers after that – scoring a run in the fifth, and two apiece in the sixth and seventh innings to take control. Clayton Kershaw did ‘Clayton Kershaw’ things, allowing a run on three hits while striking out nine Brewer batters in seven innings. Over the last two games – Milwaukee has totaled just three runs despite having 13 hits. The presumptive NL MVP, Christian Yelich went hitless in four at-bats in Wednesday’s game – he’s now 3 for 20 without an RBI in the NLCS.
The series shifts back to Milwaukee with the Brewers needing a win to avoid elimination. Wade Miley – who was lifted after facing one batter to start Wednesdays game – will get the start for Milwaukee on Friday, with the Dodgers sending Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound. Coverage starts at 7:05 with first pitch at 7:40 on KFIZ.
