NFL:
Left tackle David Bakhtiari and quarterback Aaron Rodgers are the only two Packers chosen for the 2020 Pro Bowl to be played next month. Rodgers’ selection is the eighth of his impressive career. Bakhtiari was named for the second time. Ten Green Bay players were named alternates, including kicker Mason Crosby, linebacker Za’Darius Smith, wide receiver Davante Adams, cornerback Jaire Alexander, safety Adrian Amos, defensive lineman Kenny Clark, running back Aaron Jones, center Corey Linsley, linebacker Preston Smith and fullback Danny Vitale.
The Baltimore Ravens lead the league with 12 Pro Bowl selections. New Orleans leads the NFC with seven.
The Pro Bowl will be played January 26th.
College Football:
The national signing period for college teams to sign their recruiting class opens today, and the Wisconsin Badgers expect to sign a big class of sizable high school linemen today (Wednesday). The Badgers expect to hook up with at least 17 players and five are offensive linemen. Trey Wedig of Kettle Moraine High School and Jack Nelson from Stoughton are rated the top-two prospects in the state. Wedig had offers from Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and U-S-C, plus others, while Nelson was on the radar for Michigan and Iowa. Wisconsin’s 2020 class ranks 10th in the Big Ten and 38th nationally according to Rivals.com.
