–Max VandeSlunt scored the game-winner 1:27 into overtime

Girls Hockey: 

FDL Warbirds 3, Bay Area 3 (Tie/OT)

–The Warbirds scored three goals in the third period to force OT, where the teams settled for a tie. 

Wrestling: 

Several area teams competed at the Oshkosh Lourdes On the Water invite over Friday and Saturday. Highlights include: 

Fond du Lac HS: Isaac Ortegon took second place at 152 pounds, falling to Aiden Vandenbush of Random Lake by an 8-1 decision in the championship match. 

Campbellsport HS: Roman Skorupa placed 8th at 126 pounds, losing to Michael Parker of Slinger by a fall in 4:25. 

Chilton/Hilbert: Trent Breckheimer placed 2nd at 182 pounds, losing to John Bieber of Coleman by a 2-0 decision in the championship match. Chilton/Hilbert also had Joe Boehnlein (132), Maverik Ott (138) and Gaven Lisowe (160) all place fifth in their respective weight classes. 

Laconia: Tyler Lovejoy placed 3rd at 170 pounds, winning the third place match over Sam Schwabe of Random Lake by a fall in 2:52

Lomira: The Lions had a pair of eighth place finishers – Hunter Feucht (170) and Abe Helsell (195). 

North Fond du Lac/St. Mary’s Springs: Marcus Orlandoni took second place at 220 pounds, losing to Ethan Heil of Edgar in the championship match by a fall in 2:35. The Oriole/Ledger team also had Andrew Forsythe place seventh at 152 pounds

Men’s College Basketball:

Wisconsin 68, Tennessee 48

–D’Mitrik Trice scored 21 points, Brevin Pritzl chipped in 17 for the Badgers to get the road win over the Volunteers in Knoxville. Wisconsin improves to 7-5 on the year – and closes out the non-conference schedule Tuesday against Rider at the Kohl Center.

–Markus Howard scored 30 points to lead the Golden Eagles in the win

–Playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo for the second straight night, Khris Middleton scored 21 points to lead the way as the Bucks held off the Magic at Fiserv Forum. Three different players scored 17 points for the Bucks – Ersan Ilyasova, Robin Lopez and George Hill – in the win. Milwaukee is 29-5 on the year, they’ll go for win number 30 Monday night in Chicago.

Peach Bowl: #1 LSU 63, #4 Oklahoma 28

–Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow threw seven touchdown passes in the first half as LSU crushed Oklahoma to advance to the National Championship Game in New Orleans on January 13th. 

Fiesta Bowl: #3 Clemson 29, #2 Ohio State 23

–The Tigers go 94 yards in four plays to score the game-winning touchdown with 1:49 left in the game and knock out the Buckeyes. 

Clemson will take on LSU in New Orleans for the National Championship

Cotton Bowl: Penn State 53, Memphis 39

Camping World Bowl: Notre Dame 33, Iowa State 9
