Monday’s High School Results:
Boys Basketball:
St. Mary’s Springs 78, Sheboygan Christian 55
–Cade Christensen scored 25 points – making seven three pointers – to lead the Ledgers in the win. Mitch Waechter added 21 in the win for Springs, that saw the team make a total of 14 three point baskets.
Girls Basketball:
Mayville 50, Central Wisconsin Christian 36
–Whitney Liegl scored 14 to lead Mayville, while Melissa Van Den Berg scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds for CWC
NFL:
MNF: Philadelphia 28, Washington 13
–Carson Wentz threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns in the win for the Eagles
Men’s College Basketball:
Big Ten:
Wisconsin 69, Rutgers 64
–Ethan Happ scored 20 points, D’Mitrik Trice added 14 as the Badgers rallied from down five points at halftime to defeat Rutgers at the Kohl Center Monday night. Wisconsin is now 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten – they return to non-conference play against Marquette on Saturday afternoon.

CBB News:
The Badger men’s basketball team climbed 10 spots in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll. Wisconsin jumped up to number 12 in the country from number 22 after defeating NC State and Iowa last week to improve to 7-1 on the year. Gonzaga remains at number one in the poll with Kansas at two, Duke at three, Virginia at four and Michigan at five. The rest of the top ten includes Nevada, Tennessee, Auburn, Kentucky and Michigan State. Seven total Big Ten teams are ranked in this week’s AP Poll – with Iowa (18), Ohio State (19), Maryland (23) and Nebraska (24) joining the Wolverines, Spartans and Badgers in the rankings.
NBA:
Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for November. Giannis helped lead the Bucks to the second best record in the league at 15-6 – averaging 27.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, six assists and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting a team-best 57.7 percent from the field in October and November. Giannis tallied eight 30 point games, had 14 games with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds, and seven games with 30+ points and 10+ rebounds. The honor is Giannis’ second time winning Player of the Month – and he becomes the first player in team history to win the award multiple times.
NWL Baseball:
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders field manager Zac Charbonneau will be returning for his third season, the team announced Monday. Charbonneau led the team to a 39-31 record and the team’s first Northwoods League Championship. The Dock Spiders begin the 2019 season May 28th in Kalamazoo, then hold their home opener June 1st at Herr-Baker Field against Lakeshore.
