Track & Field:
Both the St. Mary’s Springs boys and girls track teams won the Xavier Invite on Thursday. The Ledger boys scored 94 points, the Ledger girls scored 120.
Boys Highlights: Springs swept the top two spots in both the 200 and the 400 meter – with Derek O’Leary and Jake Hoch placing first and second in each event. Isaac Shannon took first in the 1,600 meter, and Isaac Hyland was first in the long jump.
Girls Highlights: Allison Taylor took first in the 400 meter, Cecelia Rodriguez first in the discus and Lexi Franz first in the High Jump.

Major League Baseball:
The Brewers open a three game series in Chicago against the division rival Cubs today. Milwaukee is 23-16, one game back of Chicago in the National League Central. The Brewers have won six in a row – sweeping consecutive series over the Mets and Washington. The Cubs have won three straight and 10 of their last 11 games, taking three of four games against Miami this week. Gio Gonzalez gets the start for Milwaukee, with the Cubs sending Jose Quintana.
