–Zac Taylor had two hits, while Cole Zabowski drove in two runs for the Dock Spiders in the loss. Madison scored a run in the seventh to tie the game and two more in the eighth to pull out the win. NWL News:
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders pitcher Jon Young was named to the Northwoods League Postseason All-Star team. Young, from Indiana Wesleyan University, posted a 4-2 record with a 1.70 ERA in 12 appearances, including 10 starts for the Dock Spiders this season. Young struck out 40 and walked 17 batters in 58 innings, and was one of two players to represent Fond du Lac in this year’s All-Star game.
The NWL divisional playoffs get underway tonight. In the South Division, Fond du Lac visits Madison while Kenosha plays host to Kalamazoo. In the North Division, Mankato visits Willmar and Duluth is at Bismarck. Winners advance to the divisional championship tomorrow, with the Summer Collegiate World Series set to begin Wednesday.

–The Brewers tallied 19 hits, but in the end it was the bullpen that let them down in the series finale with the Braves Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. Dansby Swanson hit a two-run homer to tie the game in the sixth, then a solo shot in the seventh from Ozzie Albies proved to be the difference in the loss. Lorenzo Cain had four hits, while Jesus Aguilar had three hits, including his 29th home run of the season that came in the fourth inning. Milwaukee is off today and begins at two-game series in Chicago against the Cubs Tuesday.
