Kids with fake gun causes brief lockdown at Oshkosh High School

Oshkosh Police are warning parents of the dangers kids could face playing with realistic looking fake weapons after four kids were accused of displaying a fake gun near an Oshkosh high school Friday, September 5, 2025.

Around 11:40 a.m., officers from the Oshkosh Police Department were dispatched to a report of a boy displaying a handgun at a skate park on Taft Ave, located across the street from Oshkosh West High School. The High School was placed in a secure status while officers investigated the situation.

Officers quickly determined that it was not a real firearm but rather a BB gun. The juveniles are being referred on criminal charges.
