Lake Winnebago MEG Unit, FDL County DA’s Office Assist In Federal Drug Case
A Fox Valley man who owns multiple restaurants has been convicted in a federal drug case.
Luis A. Morales was indicted this week and is due back in court in February 2021. Morales pleaded guilty to to one count to Distribute Controlled Substances.
Morales is the owner of Mr. Taco locations in Appleton, Kimberly and Hilbert, and Savor Food and Spirits in Kimberly and was accused of trafficking cocaine since 2019. Morales used employees at Mr. Taco in Kimberly to receive payments and then distribute the cocaine.
The 40-year old Morales was charged back in January on charges of:
- Conspiracy to Distribute at least 5 Kilograms of Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Distribute at least 500 Grams of Cocaine
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
6 others were also charged in connection with the case.
The case involved numerous law enforcement agencies that included the Lake Winnebago MEG Unit, and the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s office along with offices from Calumet and Outagamie counties.
