Law Enforcement Looking For Man Who Fled Crash
For the second day in a row, Fond du Lac County Law Enforcement are looking for someone in a rural part of the county.
Just before 10 AM this morning, Friday, July 7, 2023, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle in Brandon on Main Street. The driver of the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed and then struck a telephone pole near the Brandon Store.
The man exited his vehicle and took off on foot. Officers with K9s and drones from Fond du Lac County, Ripon, and the City of Fond du Lac converged on the area, but as of
Friday afternoon have been unable to find the man.
Yesterday, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were searching for a man who stole a vehicle out of Hartford and left it abandoned on Highway 67, after being chased by four separate police agencies.
The owner of the 2017 Mercedes Benz convertible had an apple watch left in the vehicle when it was stolen so Hartford Police were able to ping the location of the watch.
They notified Fond du Lac County that the last ping showed it stationary in their county at a business about three miles east of Lomira. Deputies from Fond du Lac County found and surrounded the vehicle around 7 PM, but it was empty.
The owner of the business told deputies that the driver of the car pulled into the driveway around 4 PM saying he ran out of gas and he started walking westbound on 67.
Deputies scoured the area of a nearby subdivision where several neighbors said they saw the man earlier, but he was not found.
