Lessons Learned In Fond du Lac Loss

The opening of Cardinal Stadium did not go as planned as Fond du Lac fell to one of the top teams in the state Friday night Sussex Hamilton 56-28. Even though it might be a tough pill to swallow for some, Fond du Lac Head Football Coach Sam Plucker noted that the team learned some lessons, “When things aren’t necessarily going our way, we have to recoup faster and not continue to make the same mistakes. But also, we have to practice harder and come in with a more energetic attitude at practice so we can pull out a better performance on Friday.” It doesn’t get any easier this week as Fond du Lac will travel on the road to Franklin to take on Sabers. Franklin defeated Catholic Memorial on Friday 31-24. Although a tough non-conference schedule continues Plucker says “We learned a lot about ourselves that we wouldn’t have learned if we played a lessor opponent and in the long run it will make us better. Fond du Lac’s offense was able to move the ball on Friday night with over 200 yards on the ground. Senior QB Connor Klapperich had 108 yards on the ground along with Senior RB J.J. McGee with 104 yards.

We will have coverage of Fond du Lac and Franklin on Friday Night. KFIZ Sportsnight Prep Football Preview Show gets underway at 5:30pm and Nick Van Nocker brings you the play by play at 6:45pm.
