Lifelong Fond du Lac resident to throw first pitch at Saturday’s Brewers game
Wisconsin fans are well-known for their dedication to our professional sports teams.
One very special lifelong resident’s story shows just how much positive impact those teams have.
For almost 97 years, Katherine Halbur, a resident at SSM Health St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac, has been a devoted Milwaukee Brewers fan. This Saturday, June 29, she will get to live out a dream when she throws out the ceremonial opening pitch at American Family Field as the Brewers take on the Cubs in a storied divisional rivalry.
Katherine was chosen for the Brewers Superfan Spotlight recognition after her son sent in a nomination letter describing her lifelong love of the Brew Crew. He wrote:
“Katherine is blind, so she can’t actually see the Brewers play, but she listens to every game that she can. It is one of her foremost sources of excitement in life.”
