Lightning Strike Starts House Fire in FDL

A lightning strike caused a house fire in the City of Fond
du Lac Friday evening. Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded  to the home on Country Club Lane around 5:30
pm. People inside the home said they could smell smoke after the lightning
strike and firefighters found damage to the exterior of the roof and the inside
of the garage. A fire started inside the attic, but firefighters were able to
put it out before it spread to other parts of the home. The strike caused
severe damage to the home’s electrical wiring. No injuries were reported. Fond
du Lac Police and Alliant Energy responded to the scene.
