Local Police Ask You To Watch Bank Accounts For Hacking

The Waupun Police Department as well as several other agencies reported Saturday that numerous reports of area bank accounts had been hacked with large amounts
of money being stole out of them.

At the time it was thought that a skimmer was possibly attached to one or more automated teller machines and that is how the thief or thieves acquired the information to hack the accounts.

Per multiple Facebook groups, it appears marine credit union accounts were the most hacked.

Police ask that you check your accounts history and report any activity that was not done by you to the bank and to the police.

Marine Credit Union responded to the news of the hacking by announcing it may be limiting certain ATMs that appear to be hacked and adjusting transaction limits. They also provided these resources for their account holders.
