Main Street Rehabilitation Project almost over

The City of Fond du Lac will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the re-opening of Main Street in Downtown Fond du Lac Thursday, August 28, 2025.

The Main Street Rehabilitation Project started in early April and was done in two phases from Merrill Street
to 6th Street and consisted of resurfacing the street as well as replacing some lead lines, curbs, gutters and utility structures.

The work closed Main Street to auto traffic for a portion of the summer and was the reason the Farmers Market moved to different locations and the Memorial Day Parade moved from Main Street to Macy Street this year.

The project appears to have been completed ahead of schedule as it was originally said to be completed the first week of September.

The ribbon cutting will take place on Main Street between 1st and 2nd streets at 1:30 PM.
