Major drug bust in Texas had roots in southeast Wisconsin

Police say a major drug trafficking bust in Texas started as a drug investigation in southeast Wisconsin.

The Waukesha County Drug Task Force identified a suspected dealer in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area who was believed to be supplying southeastern Wisconsin with various illegal drugs. The bust, which was the result of a combined effort between the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and the DEA Fort Worth office, took place in August of this year.

As a result of the investigation, police seized about 50 kilograms of cocaine, 1 kilogram of methamphetamine and heroine, 10,000 fentanyl pills, 1000 Ecstasy pills, 16 pounds of marijuana and over 35 guns.

Law enforcement said this bust plays a major part in reducing the availability of drugs in southeastern Wisconsin.
