Man drunk driving stolen car with stolen guns arrested after three pursuits
A man driving a stolen car while under the influence of alcohol Sunday night, December 15, 2024, led law enforcement from three jurisdictions on pursuits before finally getting stopped by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
At about 10 PM, area law enforcement had been made aware by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office to be on the look out for a stolen vehicle containing stolen guns, that may be in the area.
At around 11:20 PM, a traffic complaint on a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle was called in in Oshkosh, and Oshkosh Police attempted to pull it over. The driver refused to pull over, and when he got to the city limits, police terminated their pursuit.
Soon after Winnebago County tried to pull the vehicle over but the driver still refused to stop, driving around 65-70 mph on 41 northbound. After a couple miles, Winnebago County terminated their pursuit.
At about 11:40, a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper got behind the vehicle on 41 northbound near County Road G. Still driving around 70 mph, the driver refused to stop. Now in Outagamie County, a Grand Chute officer was able to deploy a tire deflating device on the vehicle and the driver eventually stopped just north of College Avenue near Appleton.
The driver, 38-year-old Joshua Fuller of Vesper, Wisconsin was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 4th offense.
The Wood County Sheriffs Office is investigating the stolen vehicle and stolen firearms matter.
