Man Found Dead After Tactical Situation

Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call just south of Berlin Wednesday
around 11:30 AM.

A female caller had called 911 to report her ex-boyfriend was in her residence but wasn’t supposed to be there.

When officers arrived at the house, it was learned the man had walked across the street.

According to the Green Lake County Sheriff’s department, a deputy on scene heard a single gunshot come from the direction the man had gone.

Back up units, including the department’s Combined Tactical Unit were called to the scene.

The area was blocked off, and golfers on the nearby Mascoutin Golf Course were told to get off the course while officers worked
the scene.

After several hours, and with the use of a drone, officers were able to find the man deceased with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound next to the Fox River north of the golf course.

The sheriff’s department continues to investigate the case.
