Man saves sheds contents from boat fire

The quick thinking and brave actions of a man faced with a burning boat inside a pole shed in Sheboygan County saved the structure Saturday evening, June 6, 2026.

Police say the man was working on the boat when it caught fire just before 7 p.m. on Dooley Road, in the Town of Lyndon.

Upon deputies’ arrival, they found the property owner was able to remove the boat from the shed while it was actively on fire, preventing fire from spreading to other items located inside the shed. Deputies say the inside of the pole shed was still filled with smoke however.

Cascade and Waldo fire departments were dispatched to fight the fire. The property owner sustained some minor burns but refused treatment from EMS.

The pole shed and other items inside suffered minor smoke damage.
