Man upset with heavy metal concert pleads not guilty to almost running people down with vehicle

A Manitowoc man who blamed devil music as the reason for nearly hitting pedestrians with his car earlier this month, was in court Thursday, September 25, 2025, to enter his plea.
51-year-old Matthew Korth has been charged with Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Disorderly Conduct, and Carrying a Concealed Knife for the incident that took place outside Pet Skull Brewing on September 13th, following a heavy metal concert.
Korth was arrested by Manitowoc Police after driving erratically near the concert location in the 1700 block of Washington Street.
During his arrest, he began yelling about the devil music that was being played at the concert.
According to police, Korth admitted to being parked near the concert. After seeing someone make the devil horns sign with his hands, Korth drove up on the sidewalk towards the person nearly striking them before turning away.
Korth is due back in court on Monday for a bond hearing.
