Man wanted in pursuit that involved shooting turns self in

A follow-up to a story we brought you last week where a man shot at police in Sheboygan County as he ran from a vehicle being pursued by officers.

The driver of that vehicle sped off, and now officers have said he has turned himself in to police.

28-year-old Mario Doyle, Jr initially stopped during a traffic stop on State Highway 32 near County Road FF but fled the scene and was pursued by officers. After 4 miles, Doyle stopped again and the passenger exited the vehicle and shot at police as he ran from the scene. Police eventually found that man with a fatal, self inflicted gunshot wound.

Doyle turned himself in, accompanied by his lawyer, at about 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon. He remains in custody as the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office develops official charges against him.
