Man who intentionally caused motorcycle crash killing driver enters not guilty pleas

The man accused of intentionally hitting a motorcyclist driving on south Main Street in Fond du Lac at the end of March, killing the driver, has entered not guilty pleas In Fond du Lac County Circuit court Monday, June 9, 2025.

68-year-old Mark Snider entered the not guilty pleas on his charges of Second-Degree Reckless Homicide and First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.

Each count carries a use of dangerous weapon modifier, which would be Snider’s vehicle. Snider was arrested after the fatal crash on March 28th of this year.

After investigation and witness interviews, Fond du Lac police believed that Snider intentionally swerved into the path of 26-year-old Elijah Sowin’s motorcycle in the 600 block of South Main Street as they both drove northbound.

As a result, Sowin crashed into the driver’s side of Snider’s vehicle, suffering significant injuries that he would later succumb to at SSM Health/St Agnes hospital.

Snider will be back in court on July 24th for a plea and sentencing hearing.
