Man Who Killed Six In Parade Held On $5M Bail
A Milwaukee man accused in the crash with the Waukesha Holiday Parade is now being held on a 5 million dollar cash bail.
Prosecutors say 39-year-old Darrell Brookes Jr. has a lengthy criminal history in multiple states and has a history of not making court appearances, warranting the high bail. Waukesha County Court Commissioner Kevin Costello agreed.
“I have no problem with that bail. It’s extraordinarily high, but it’s an extraordinarily big case, it’s an extraordinarily serious case.”
A sixth charge of homicide is expected to be filed soon after an 8-year-old boy died in the hospital from his injuries, and prosecutors say more charges will be pending if any of the other victims fail to recover.
