Man with history of crimes in area sentenced for Fond du Lac fentanyl death

A man that was found guilty of second degree reckless homicide for a drug related death in the city of Fond du Lac in 2022 has been sentenced to prison.

On Friday, March 27, 2026, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced that Omar Simpson was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment, followed by 10 years of extended supervision.

Simpson pleaded no contest to the charge for his role in the delivery of fentanyl that contributed to the death of a mother on March 5, 2022, in the City of Fond du Lac.

According to court documents, Simpson has a long history of charges including Fleeing and eluding, Delivery of Heroin, Theft from a corpse, possession of Cocaine and a domestic battery case in 2016 where the victim defended herself by stabbing Simpson in the chest.
