Marian Athletics Promotes From Within As Season Begins

As the fall semester approaches and student-athletes return to campus, Marian University is proud to announce a trio of strategic promotions within its athletic department, reinforcing its commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

Kim Sorensen (Assistant Athletic Director – Compliance/SWA) – Sorensen joined the Sabres in 2000 as the first-ever full-time athletic trainer.  She has served as the head of the Marian sports medicine staff ever since adding roles in compliance and as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) for Marian Athletics.  The impact of Sorensen has been felt outside of Marian as well at both the conference and national level.  Sorensen currently is the chair member for the NACC SWA committee and has held a similar position in the past for the athletic trainers of the conference.  With the SWA group, she also served as the certified chief executive officer.  At the national level, Sorensen is currently a committee member for the NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Championship.

Brandon Bodart (Assistant Athletic Director – Communications) – “Brando” has been the force behind the scenes since 2015 and takes care of the website and social media of the Athletic Department. He also runs the game day staff and experience along with writing press releases and working directly with the media promoting the department.

Drake Diener (Assistant Athletic Director – External Relations) – a familiar face to Sabre fans and in the Fond du Lac community. Diener will spearhead efforts in alumni engagement, fundraising, and marketing, bringing his passion for Marian and its student-athletes to a broader audience.

With fresh leadership and a new wave of student-athletes ready to make their mark, Marian Athletics is poised for a season filled with promise, pride, and performance. Fans, alumni, and the campus community can expect an exciting year ahead as the Sabres charge into competition.
