Marian University offers mock crime scene investigative experience

If you ever wanted to see what it was like to be a crime scene detective, Marian University will be hosting a Crime Scene House – Open House.

Marian University’s Forensic Science Association has created a crime scene and is opening the doors to its campus Crime Scene House for a hands-on, clue-filled open house this Thursday and Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at 74 S National Ave, in Fond du Lac, which is across from the Marian University campus.

Marian’s Crime Scene House is an actual house the university purchased for the Forensic Science program, so students could practice their skills in a realistic environment.  The crime scene for the open house is staged by students in the Forensic Science Association. This interactive event invites the public to test their critical-thinking and observation skills by stepping into the shoes of first responders, investigators, and forensic scientists.

Those taking part in the event will observe clues, talk to witnesses, and analyze lab results of evidence to come up with a conclusion of what happened. Experiences begin every 15 minutes.
Those interested can sign up for the open house, but walk ins are also welcome.

The event is open to the public. This is a great activity for a friend, family, or work group.
