Mayville Nursing Home Evacuated

Mayville Fire Department officials say 39 residents of the Crossroads Care Center had to be evacuated from the nursing home Tuesday morning when smoke triggered a fire alarm. No one was injured. Firefighters determined the smoke in the facility’s north wing was caused by a malfunctioning motor in the building’s heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system. Mutual aid was provided by the Theresa, Kekoskee, Horicon, Iron Ridge and Hustiford fire departments.
