Mercury Marine Exceeds Donation Goal For FDL County United Way
Mercury Marine is pleased to announce that it has raised more than $81,000 for the United Way of Fond du Lac County for 2016. The donations were supported through a bi-weekly payroll giving campaign as well as a variety of community events throughout the year. This donation is in addition to the grant of $80,000 awarded by the Brunswick Foundation to United Way of Fond du Lac County in 2016.
“The United Way of Fond du Lac county has been a fantastic partner to our employees and the Fond du Lac community and we will continue to support their initiatives,” said Andres Gonzalez, Mercury Marine vice president of human resources. “We are very pleased with the success of our 2016 fundraising initiatives and our ability to exceed our goals.”
In addition to the bi-weekly campaign, two new events in 2016 helped to spur additional fundraising including a spring golf outing and fall kickball tournament. Both of those events will be repeated in 2017 in addition to other fundraising initiatives.
Over the past five years, the Brunswick Public Foundation and Mercury Marine employees have donated close to $900,000 to various United Way chapters.
