Mercury National Fishing Walleye Tournament

Walleye Weekend brought thousands of people to Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park this weekend to enjoy fishing, softball tournaments, food from local non-profit organizations and live music. The event also included the Mercury National Walleye Fishing Tournament that brought more than 500 anglers to compete for a prize package that includes a LUND 1875 Impact XS multi‑species fishing boat equipped with a Mercury 150hp Pro XS outboard, a 9.9hp ProKicker and $5,000 cash. This years winners were Ken Groeschel of Malone, WI., and Doug Pietrowski of Fond du Lac bringing home 29 pounds and 9 ounces over the two day event.
