Milwaukee County Zoo presents Boo at the Zoo

The Milwaukee County Zoo invites you to enjoy a “not so scary” Halloween! Guests of all ages are encouraged to come in costume to Boo at the Zoo presented by Prairie Farms Dairy on Thursday, Oct. 17 through Sunday, Oct. 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A spooky good time awaits guests at Boo at the Zoo, featuring family-friendly activities including a Trick-or-Treat Trail, live pumpkin-carving demos, light shows, Creatures of the Night animal talks, plus much more! Several animal buildings will be open just for this event.

Boo at the Zoo pre-purchased tickets are required and are now on sale at milwaukeezoo.org. Zoo Pass members save 15% with code halloween15 and their membership number.

The Zoo’s Halloween activities are a real treat, including:

  • Follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail — with 10 different sweet spots — through Adventure Africa. All candy is made with sustainable palm oil, and allergy-friendly options are available at the specially-marked teal treat stops. (Be sure to bring your own treat bags to gather your goodies, as trick-or-treat bags are not provided.)
  • Be dazzled by light shows and Halloween decor including the Candy Corn Farmer’s Market, Spooky Hallow, Frankenstein’s Village, and more.
  • Stop in for a spell at Mad Science of Milwaukee! Kids will surely enjoy some spooky science at several frightfully-fun stations.
  • Halloween hauntings are in store for guests when they hop aboard the North Shore Bank Safari Train turned Halloween-themed ride or the Penzeys Carousel — both are a delight at night!
  • It’ll be a “boo-tiful” night for Halloween entertainment with our stilt walkers!
  • See if you can make your way through our creatively-crafted Haystack Maze.
  • Stroll through hundreds of carved pumpkins.
  • These animal buildings will be open for Boo at the Zoo: Aquatic & Reptile Center, Dairy Complex, Florence Mila Borchert Big Cat Country, Primates of the World, Small Mammals Building, and Sterns Family Apes of Africa. For their health and safety, outdoor animals are not viewable.
  • Eat, drink, and be scary! A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the Zoo.
  • And more!

Costumes for all ages are encouraged but not required. Please remember this is a family-friendly event; we ask that all costumes are appropriate for small children and are delightful, not frightful.

Boo at the Zoo will be held rain or shine. Tickets are nonrefundable and honored only for the specific evening for which they were purchased. Parking is included in the ticket price — a $15 value.
