Milwaukee To Host First Republican Presidential Primary Debate For 2024 Election

Milwaukee has been selected to host the first Republican presidential primary debate, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel announced Thursday.

Milwaukee will host the debate in August, which will coincide with the Republican National Committee Summer Meeting. The Republican National Convention is expected to host roughly 45,000 people from July 15-18, 2024.

When asked What does it say that the GOP is picking Milwaukee for the first debate, as well as the convention, former Republican Speaker of the House and Wisconsinite
Paul Ryan said, “It shows how important Wisconsin is in the election. Four states are going to determine the next president, in my opinion, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Georgia. Those are the key, critical states in the Electoral College these days, and so we are one of the most important states in the country for choosing the next president,
and that is why our convention is here.”

The committee is considering between 10 and 12 debates between August and its national convention in the summer of 2024.
