Missing Dodge County Boy Found Safe

A missing Dodge County 14-year old has been found. Sheriff Dale Schmidt issued a press release early Monday morning that the male has been found sitting in a tree stand in a cornfield just before 10:00 p.m. Sunday night.

The boy had left Crystal Lake Beach Park in the Town of Beaver Dam Sunday evening, with Sheriff’s Deputies receiving the call about 6:48 p.m. A search team was quickly put in place, including Dodge County’s Child Abduction Response Team (CART) as well as the Beaver Dam Fire, Rescue, and Police and Juneau and Horicon Fire Departments and the Juneau Police Department.

Using tips from the public, saying the subject had walked to the Wild Goose Trail, and then into the corn field, Sheriff’s Deputies were able to locate the subject in the tree stand and he was returned quickly to his worried parents. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is following up with the family to provide any further assistance needed.
