Mock Tornado Warning Drill Is A Go For Today

After mother nature tried her best to make it a reality yesterday, the National Weather Service will be conducting 2 mock tornado watch and warnings today as part of severe weather awareness week. The warnings will take place at 1:45 and 6:45 this afternoon. This allows most everyone to test their tornado warning plans at work as well as at home.

The tests were scheduled for yesterday, but a cold front associated with a low pressure storm system brought conditions that could have led to the development of severe weather so the decision was made to do the tests today so as to not confuse the public if the tests were real or not.

Fortunately only one storm reached severe potential in Fond du Lac County and that was a storm that went warned in extreme eastern Fond du Lac County around 7 PM last night. No severe weather was reported with that storm.
