More Rain On The Way After Brief Dry Out

The Fond du Lac area gets a couple days to dry out after the rain that passed through yesterday.

Officially at the Fond du Lac County Airport, just under 1 3/4 of an inch fell, while close to 3 inches fell in Dodge County at the airport in Juneau.

The rain was from a low pressure storm system that developed to our northwest and traveled southeast over Wisconsin. A flood watch was issued for southeast Wisconsin, including the Fond du Lac area 12 hours before the rain started.

While no wide spread flooding problems occurred, there were multiple areas of standing water on area roadways and some homes and businesses in the city experienced
some basement flooding.

The areas next chance of rain comes Wednesday night when around a 1/4 inch of rain could fall. The big story then will be up to 40 mph wind gusts which when coupled with the saturated ground could topple trees over in the area. Stay tuned to KFIZ as we monitor this weather situation.
