Motorcycle crash injures one Saturday near St Cloud

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday after crashing while travelling in a group of 4 others motorcycles in Fond du Lac County.

At about 2 PM, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a radio transmission from an off-duty Mt. Calvary EMS personnel, reporting a motorcycle had crashed on County Highway G near Glen Road, south of St Cloud.

Investigation into the crash found the lead motorcyclist failed to signal an upcoming turn, catching one of the other riders off guard. The driver of the cycle braked hard and crashed while trying to avoid the lead bike. The operator of the motorcycle was flown by ThedaStar medical helicopter to ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah for serious injuries.

The lead rider was issued a citation for failure to signal causing a crash.
