Motorcyclist Flown To Trauma Center After Highway 23 Crash

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with Mt Calvary Fire Department and Ambulance, as well as the City of Fond du Lac Paramedics responded to
a single motorcycle crash yesterday on Highway 23 west of Pit Road.

At 7:49 PM, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting the crash.

Prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene, passerbys stopped and provided first aid to the motorcyclist.

Investigation of the crash shows the motorcyclist was westbound on 23 when he traveled onto the gravel median shoulder. The man began to lose control on the shoulder before traveling down into the median. He was then thrown from his motorcycle before coming to rest in the median. He was not wearing a helmet.

The 36-year-old Wild Rose man was flown by Thedastar medical helicopter to Thedacare Hospital in Neenah with significant injuries.

Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, and the man was arrested for operating while intoxicated 1st offense.
