Multiple Crashes Reported During County’s First Snowfall

The seasons first snowfall occurred yesterday and much of the area saw about 2-4 inches. The City of Fond du Lac had about three inches but the eastern half of the county likely had close to four inches as a late afternoon lake enhanced snow band moved across that area.

The snow started right around the time of most peoples morning commute and the sheriff’s office was kept busy during this time. Sheriff’s office logs show them responding to 13 different incidences related to crashes and slide offs between the hours of 6 and 11 AM.

Much of the snow was gone by evening as a couple hours of sunlight and temperatures above freezing melted a lot of it. Forecast models don’t show anymore snow falling, at least for the near term.
