Multiple People Injured After Car Crashed Into Verizon Store

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue as well as the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a serious vehicle vs building crash early this afternoon at 467 north Rolling Meadows Drive.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found that a car had completely crashed through the south wall of the Verizon store and multiple people were injured inside.
A first responder radioed that 8 people were injured and asked for multiple ambulances.

All 3 of the city of Fond du Lac ambulances responded as well as a North Fond du Lac ambulance.

ThedaStar Medical Helicopter met one of the ambulances at the airport to transport the most critically injured person.

Initial investigation shows the driver of the vehicle was northbound on Rolling Meadows and left the roadway to the right and traveled several hundred feet before jumping
the curb and crashing into the building.

In total, five people, including the driver, were transported to hospitals.

The 20-year-old male driver from Oakfield was arrested for operating while impaired causing great bodily harm and was assessed by a Fond du Lac County Sheriff Deputy
Drug Recognition Expert.

The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted with their Accident Reconstruction Unit.
