National Day Of Prayer Set To Take Place Thursday 5/7/2020
There’s no disputing the fact that there’s a great many things to be praying for during these turbulent times. For those that turn to prayer in times of need, the National Day of Prayer might just be what the Doctor ordered.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday in May, and invites people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the Unites States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Locally, the event will be observed at Reach Out Books and Solid Grounds located at 221 N. Peters Ave. in Fond du Lac. The event will start with coffee available for purchase from 7:30 a.m.- 8:00 a.m., with both To Go and Pick-up or Curbside via call-in ordering. You can call ahead to order at 920-921-5102.
Organizers say the Prayer portion of the event will take place beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a service being led by Paul Osterholm, Sr. Attendees will be socially-distancing in or near their cars. To find out more about the event nationally you read more at www.nationaldayofprayer.org
