National Night Out Takes Place Tuesday, August 1

The annual public safety event, National Night Out, takes place tomorrow at the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds Park.
This years event, which kicks off at 4 PM, will feature local public service organizations like The Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue, plus many more.
Those attending the event will be able to see up close demos of police and fire vehicles including the City Of Fond du Lac’s and County Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. vehicles.
There will be games and activities for children to participate in like a bounce house and face painting and kids can register to win a bike.
Also returning this year will be the mascot race which features mascots from area organizations taking part in a running race.
National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes public safety departments and neighborhood camaraderie.
The event, which started in 1984, takes place on the first Tuesday of August.
