New cookie store open in Ripon

A business in Ripon is hoping to reassociate the city with the cookie image it once had. It’s been years since Ripon Good Cookies has left the city, but now a mother daughter combo, with the help from other family members, is bringing the smell of the sweet treat back to the downtown area with a store called Ripon Dough Co .
The idea loosely started years ago when sisters Brittany and Cece talked of opening a small business specializing in coffee. The thinking at that time was to open a food truck, but fast forward to the beginning of the year when a building on Watson Street went up for sale. Brittany purchased it, and she and her mom Beth decided with their love of baking, would try a cookie shop. The coffee idea never went away however and Cece still plays a part in the business, using her former Barista experience to come up with gourmet coffee recipes at the store as well.
The store officially opened in July, but a ribbon cutting and open house will be taking place at noon Friday, August 29, 2025.
Store hours are weekends only for now as the store gets it’s feet wet, Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The store is the definition of a family run business as not only do the two sisters and mother play a part, helping round out the edges is yet another sister Sara and Brittany’s husband Eric that help out as well.
Brittany says as business increases, they have kids that can also be put to work to help out too.
