New Election Recount Legislation

New state legislation was passed this year limiting who can ask for an
election recount and how close behind the winner they have to finish in order
to be able to ask for the recount. Fond du Lac
County Clerk Lisa Freiberg is confident about the accuracy of
the County’s election equipment. She says the only errors during the Jill Stein
recount for the Presidential election last December were made by humans and not
by their machines. Freiberg
points out election clerks get training on any new legislation passed that
affects elections and they will be brought up to date on recount procedures.
