New Staff At FCEDC

The Fond du Lac Economic Development Corporation announces the addition of two new staff members. William Steimel joins the staff as Director of Business Development, a new position, and Sarah Spang joins as Executive Assistant. Both positions are key to implementation of the FCEDC Strategic Framework focused on substantive new growth and prosperity for the County, its residents and communities.

Mr. Steimel has a background in industry having been with the Brunswick Credit Corporation embedded with Mercury Marine and recently as a consultant to Quad Graphic. His responsibilities will be the FCEDC Existing Business Program and assisting the County’s rural communities with their economic development efforts.

“We are excited to have Bill Steimel join the FCEDC team considering his background and experience”, according to Steve Jenkins, President of the FCEDC. “The Existing Business Program is a priority for the FCEDC in addition to supporting the other communities in the County. Bill’s expertise considerably adds to those important and critical efforts.”

Ms. Spang comes to the FCEDC after a wealth of experience in office operations. Her role will be to support four professionals, the Board and Executive Committee, various committees, investor relations, and to manage the organization’s Social Media platforms and presence.

“The role of the Executive Assistant is extremely important for a smooth organizational operation and we believe that Sarah will significantly contribute to FCEDC’s efforts to serve our investors and community”, noted Steve Jenkins.

The FCEDC is aggressively working to bring new prosperity to the County in the light of an evolving national and global landscape for economic development. The Great Recession caused a shift in the economy that requires all communities to re-examine their approaches. This is especially true in light of the decline of many sectors and the emergence of others. The FCEDC recognizes this and is focused on repositioning Fond du Lac County moving forward. The addition of Mr. Steimel and Ms. Spang will be very important concerning this goal.
