“New Top Dog” photo contest off to strong start
With strong early participation from dog owners, shelters, and voters across Northeast Wisconsin, the online fundraiser “New Top Dog Photo Contest” is off to an energetic start.
Organizers say momentum continues to build, and with three weeks still remaining before the contest closes on March 1, there’s still time for more dogs to get entered, and for the community to get involved.
Presented by the Oshkosh Mid-Morning Kiwanis, New Top Dog pairs up local breweries with local animal rescues and invites dog owners from across the region to submit photos of their canine companions into one of the pairings.
Contestants than rally online votes, and compete for the title of Northeast Wisconsin’s Top Dog.
While the contest is based out of Oshkosh, breweries and pet rescues are represented from throughout the Fox Valley with Fond du Lac being one of the teams.
Pet owners can choose the Fond du Lac Beer Company, along with Sandi Paws Animal Rescue.
Money is raised by charging voters $1 per vote with proceeds after expenses going to each of the named animal rescues and the Kiwanis organization.
The grand prize winner with each team gets their pets photo printed on a special, limited edition beer can from the brewery they are paired with.
Since its inception, NEW Top Dog has raised more than $700,000 to support pets and children throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
